# Weekly ASO Report: What to Check Every Week, and What to Do Next

Source: https://asostudio.app/blog/weekly-aso-report

What a weekly ASO report should hold: every keyword rank that moved and where it was, what each move was worth, who passed you, what your rivals changed, and the next steps ranked by value.

## Six things worth checking every week

### 1. Every rank that moved, and where it was
A rank on its own says nothing. Number 12 is good news if it was 30 last week and bad news if it was 4. The week's report starts with every term that moved and the rank it moved from.
**What to check:** Each term that moved this week, beside its rank last week.

### 2. What the move was worth
Moves are not equal. Climbing from 4 to 2 on a search thousands of people make is worth more than climbing from 80 to 40 on one nobody types. Rank changes only mean something once they are weighed by the demand behind them.
**What to check:** The moves sorted by what they are worth, not by how many places they jumped.

### 3. How it got there
A term that climbed a little every day is a different story from one that spiked on Friday. The first is a trend you can build on. The second might be gone by Monday.
**What to check:** The shape of the week for each moved term, not just where it ended.

### 4. Who passed you
Your rank can fall without you changing anything, because someone else climbed. Knowing which rival moved ahead, and on which searches, tells you whether to respond or wait.
**What to check:** The rivals that moved ahead of you this week, and on which terms.

### 5. What a rival changed
When a competitor rewrites its title or subtitle, the effect shows up in its ranks a week or two later. Seeing the change when it happens lets you read the result instead of guessing at it.
**What to check:** Any competitor listing that changed, and what it did to their ranks.

### 6. What to do next week
A report that only describes the week leaves the hard part to you. The useful one ends with the next steps, ranked by what each is worth, so the most valuable change is the first one you read.
**What to check:** Three or four next steps, the biggest one first.

## Frequently asked questions

### What should a weekly ASO report include?
Every rank that moved, what it was worth, and what to do next. Start with every keyword whose rank changed, beside the rank it held last week. Weigh each move by the demand behind the search, note which rivals moved ahead of you and whether any of them changed their listing, and finish with the next steps, ordered by what each is worth.

### How often should I check my App Store keyword rankings?
Once a week is the right rhythm for decisions. Ranks move every day, and a single day's move is often noise that reverses by the next. A week shows which moves held, and still leaves time to act before a slide becomes a loss.

### Why do my App Store rankings change every day?
Apple's search results shift with new downloads, ratings and listing changes across every app competing for the same search, not just yours. A rival's update, a burst of downloads elsewhere or a new app entering the results can all move your position overnight without you changing anything.

### What should I do when a keyword ranking drops?
First check whether it held for the week or was a single bad day. If it held, look at who moved ahead of you and whether they changed their listing, then weigh the term's demand. A drop on a search that matters is worth a listing change in your next release; a drop on one that does not can wait.

### When is the weekly report available in ASO Studio?
The weekly email report is coming to ASO Studio for Mac, and it is included in the subscription at no extra cost. Today the Overview already shows what moved this week, who is ahead of you, and a notice when a rival changes its listing.
