The short version
What the choice actually turns on.
Only the rows where these two genuinely differ. Everything they answer the same way is left out, because it cannot decide anything.
- 01
Trying it. App Radar: trial. AppDrift: free plan. A permanent free plan and a trial that expires are not the same offer.
- 02
Scripting and AI access. App Radar: none. AppDrift: mcp.
- 03
Price. AppDrift starts free; App Radar starts at €690 a year on Essentials, up to €299 a month.
- 04
Who each is built for. App Radar sits in the mid-market tier and AppDrift in the indie tier, which usually matters more than any single feature.
In its favour
What App Radar does well.
- Review management with AI-assisted replies, which ASO Studio does not do at all.
- Google Play alongside the App Store.
- Team seats and shared workspaces on the higher plans.
- Apple Search Ads and Google Ads management, backed by SplitMetrics which owns them.
In its favour
What AppDrift does well.
- A dozen free ASO tools that need no account at all, which is more open than most of this market.
- MCP and a REST API on every paid plan rather than reserved for a top tier, so scripting is not an upsell.
- Google Play alongside the App Store.
- Browser delivery, so it runs on Windows and Linux where ASO Studio cannot.
Ours, for the record
There is a third option.
Both cover Google Play, which ASO Studio does not. If your app is iOS only, $59/yr a year covers unlimited apps and keywords on a native Mac app, and you can score your listing free first.
