The short version

What the choice actually turns on.

Only the rows where these two genuinely differ. Everything they answer the same way is left out, because it cannot decide anything.

  1. 01

Trying it. Appfigures: none. AppKittie: free plan. A permanent free plan and a trial that expires are not the same offer.

  2. 02

Scripting and AI access. Appfigures: api. AppKittie: mcp.

  3. 03

Price. Appfigures starts at $9.99 a month on Connect, keyword tools from $149.99; AppKittie at $588 a year billed yearly, or $79 a month.

In its favour

What Appfigures does well.

  • Your own numbers: it connects to App Store Connect and Google Play and reports your real downloads, revenue and subscription metrics.
  • A genuinely cheap entry point at $9.99 a month if analytics is what you want.
  • Long-running market intelligence with a large historical estimate set behind it.
  • Both stores in one account, with review management included on every plan.

In its favour

What AppKittie does well.

  • Ad creative intelligence no indie ASO tool carries: the live Meta and Apple Search Ads creatives an app is running, how long each has been live, and estimated spend broken down by country.
  • An organic video library across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts, with the creators posting them, which is a whole growth channel that keyword tools do not look at.
  • An onboarding and paywall library, so you can read the exact flow a paying app ships rather than guessing at it.
  • A database of over 4,500,000 apps across both stores that you can filter by revenue, downloads, growth and launch date, which is the right tool for choosing what to build before there is anything to optimize.
  • A documented REST API next to the MCP server, with credit costs published per endpoint, so a script on a server can read the same data an agent does.
  • Being on the web, so it works from any machine and any operating system rather than only a Mac.

Ours, for the record

There is a third option.

Both cover Google Play, which ASO Studio does not. If your app is iOS only, $59/yr a year covers unlimited apps and keywords on a native Mac app, and you can score your listing free first.
