The short version
What the choice actually turns on.
Only the rows where these two genuinely differ. Everything they answer the same way is left out, because it cannot decide anything.
- 01
Trying it. Appfigures: none. Applyra: free plan. A permanent free plan and a trial that expires are not the same offer.
- 02
Scripting and AI access. Appfigures: api. Applyra: mcp.
- 03
Price. Applyra starts free; Appfigures starts at $9.99 a month on Connect, keyword tools from $149.99.
- 04
Who each is built for. Appfigures sits in the mid-market tier and Applyra in the indie tier, which usually matters more than any single feature.
In its favour
What Appfigures does well.
- Your own numbers: it connects to App Store Connect and Google Play and reports your real downloads, revenue and subscription metrics.
- A genuinely cheap entry point at $9.99 a month if analytics is what you want.
- Long-running market intelligence with a large historical estimate set behind it.
- Both stores in one account, with review management included on every plan.
In its favour
What Applyra does well.
- A genuinely permanent free plan, not a trial that expires. One app and five keywords is enough to watch a single launch.
- Google Play alongside the App Store, which rules ASO Studio out entirely for an Android developer.
- An MCP server, so this is not a choice between agent access and no agent access.
- Nothing to install and nothing tied to one machine: it runs in a browser on any operating system.
Ours, for the record
There is a third option.
Both cover Google Play, which ASO Studio does not. If your app is iOS only, $59/yr a year covers unlimited apps and keywords on a native Mac app, and you can score your listing free first.
