The short version
What the choice actually turns on.
Only the rows where these two genuinely differ. Everything they answer the same way is left out, because it cannot decide anything.
- 01
Trying it. Applyra: free plan. ASO.dev: none. A permanent free plan and a trial that expires are not the same offer.
- 02
Scripting and AI access. Applyra: mcp. ASO.dev: api.
- 03
Where it runs. Applyra: web. ASO.dev: web and mac.
- 04
Price. Applyra starts free; ASO.dev starts at $15 a month on Console, up to $149.
In its favour
What Applyra does well.
- A genuinely permanent free plan, not a trial that expires. One app and five keywords is enough to watch a single launch.
- Google Play alongside the App Store, which rules ASO Studio out entirely for an Android developer.
- An MCP server, so this is not a choice between agent access and no agent access.
- Nothing to install and nothing tied to one machine: it runs in a browser on any operating system.
In its favour
What ASO.dev does well.
- The whole release chore in one place: metadata, screenshots in bulk, pricing and subscriptions, on both stores.
- Bulk AI review replies with translation, which is a real and thankless time sink handled properly.
- Custom Product Pages for testing store pages against each other, on the Pro tier.
- A public API alongside App Store Connect and Google Play automation, so it fits into a release pipeline rather than sitting beside one.
- Apple Ads intelligence with competitor creatives and share of voice by keyword, on the Marketing tier.
- A $15-a-month entry point if metadata management is all you want from it.
Ours, for the record
There is a third option.
Both cover Google Play, which ASO Studio does not. If your app is iOS only, $59/yr a year covers unlimited apps and keywords on a native Mac app, and you can score your listing free first.
