The short version

What the choice actually turns on.

Only the rows where these two genuinely differ. Everything they answer the same way is left out, because it cannot decide anything.

  1. 01

Stores. Applyra covers the App Store and Google Play; Astro is App Store only. If you ship on Android this decides it before price does.

  2. 02

Trying it. Applyra: free plan. Astro: none. A permanent free plan and a trial that expires are not the same offer.

  3. 03

Where it runs. Applyra: web. Astro: mac app.

  4. 04

Price. Applyra starts free; Astro starts at $108 a year, billed annually.

In its favour

What Applyra does well.

  • A genuinely permanent free plan, not a trial that expires. One app and five keywords is enough to watch a single launch.
  • Google Play alongside the App Store, which rules ASO Studio out entirely for an Android developer.
  • An MCP server, so this is not a choice between agent access and no agent access.
  • Nothing to install and nothing tied to one machine: it runs in a browser on any operating system.

In its favour

What Astro does well.

  • Broader Apple coverage: tvOS, watchOS and Mac apps as well as iPhone and iPad.
  • More storefronts, at 60-plus countries, with daily ranking updates and historical charts.
  • Built-in DeepL translation, which matters a lot if you localize into many languages.
  • A mature, well-liked product with a longer track record than ASO Studio has.

Ours, for the record

There is a third option.

If neither shape of bill fits, ASO Studio is $59/yr a year flat for unlimited apps and keywords, App Store only, with a free App Rating check that needs no account.
