The short version
What the choice actually turns on.
Only the rows where these two genuinely differ. Everything they answer the same way is left out, because it cannot decide anything.
- 01
Stores. ASO.dev covers the App Store and Google Play; AppSprint is App Store only. If you ship on Android this decides it before price does.
- 02
Trying it. AppSprint: trial. ASO.dev: none. A permanent free plan and a trial that expires are not the same offer.
- 03
Scripting and AI access. AppSprint: mcp. ASO.dev: api.
- 04
Where it runs. AppSprint: mac app. ASO.dev: web and mac.
- 05
Price. AppSprint starts at €114 a year on Solo (1 app), Pro €234; ASO.dev at $15 a month on Console, up to $149.
In its favour
What AppSprint does well.
- A metadata editor that writes straight to App Store Connect, so the change you decide on ships from the same window instead of being copied into a browser.
- Your own money in the same app: RevenueCat and Superwall integrations, plus SDKs for iOS, Flutter and React Native.
- Price localization across its 66 countries, which is genuinely tedious to do by hand.
- Apple Ads return on ad spend reported against the campaigns it manages, not just keyword-level ad data.
- The same Apple-only, runs-on-your-Mac shape as ASO Studio, including an MCP server, so neither of us is asking you to move your research onto a web dashboard.
In its favour
What ASO.dev does well.
- The whole release chore in one place: metadata, screenshots in bulk, pricing and subscriptions, on both stores.
- Bulk AI review replies with translation, which is a real and thankless time sink handled properly.
- Custom Product Pages for testing store pages against each other, on the Pro tier.
- A public API alongside App Store Connect and Google Play automation, so it fits into a release pipeline rather than sitting beside one.
- Apple Ads intelligence with competitor creatives and share of voice by keyword, on the Marketing tier.
- A $15-a-month entry point if metadata management is all you want from it.
Ours, for the record
There is a third option.
If neither shape of bill fits, ASO Studio is $59/yr a year flat for unlimited apps and keywords, App Store only, with a free App Rating check that needs no account.
