The short version
What the choice actually turns on.
Only the rows where these two genuinely differ. Everything they answer the same way is left out, because it cannot decide anything.
- 01
Scripting and AI access. AppTweak: api. SplitMetrics Optimize: none.
- 02
Price. AppTweak publishes $949 a year on Essential, up to $549 a month; SplitMetrics Optimize publishes nothing and quotes on request.
- 03
Who each is built for. AppTweak sits in the mid-market tier and SplitMetrics Optimize in the enterprise tier, which usually matters more than any single feature.
In its favour
What AppTweak does well.
- Deep historical data, up to 24 months on Grow Plus and all-time on Enterprise, which no new tool can manufacture.
- Google Play alongside the App Store, in one account.
- Real team features: seats, shared reporting and automated Slack and email alerts.
- Ad intelligence and creative research that sit well outside what a keyword tool does.
- A mature, well-staffed product with support and onboarding behind it.
In its favour
What SplitMetrics Optimize does well.
- Real A/B testing of store listing creative, measured on live traffic. That is a capability, not a feature, and ASO Studio has nothing like it.
- The infrastructure and traffic volume to make an experiment reach significance, which is the hard part of testing.
- Google Play alongside the App Store.
- A team platform with the support and onboarding an enterprise contract carries.
Ours, for the record
There is a third option.
Both cover Google Play, which ASO Studio does not. If your app is iOS only, $59/yr a year covers unlimited apps and keywords on a native Mac app, and you can score your listing free first.
