The short version
What the choice actually turns on.
Only the rows where these two genuinely differ. Everything they answer the same way is left out, because it cannot decide anything.
- 01
Trying it. ASO.dev: none. FoxData: trial. A permanent free plan and a trial that expires are not the same offer.
- 02
Where it runs. ASO.dev: web and mac. FoxData: web.
- 03
Price. ASO.dev publishes $15 a month on Console, up to $149; FoxData publishes nothing and quotes on request.
- 04
Who each is built for. ASO.dev sits in the indie tier and FoxData in the mid-market tier, which usually matters more than any single feature.
In its favour
What ASO.dev does well.
- The whole release chore in one place: metadata, screenshots in bulk, pricing and subscriptions, on both stores.
- Bulk AI review replies with translation, which is a real and thankless time sink handled properly.
- Custom Product Pages for testing store pages against each other, on the Pro tier.
- A public API alongside App Store Connect and Google Play automation, so it fits into a release pipeline rather than sitting beside one.
- Apple Ads intelligence with competitor creatives and share of voice by keyword, on the Marketing tier.
- A $15-a-month entry point if metadata management is all you want from it.
In its favour
What FoxData does well.
- Ad intelligence, which is a genuinely different product from keyword research and something ASO Studio does not attempt.
- A set of free ASO tools anyone can use, alongside the trial.
- Google Play as well as the App Store.
- An API product for teams that need to pull data into their own systems at volume.
Ours, for the record
There is a third option.
Both cover Google Play, which ASO Studio does not. If your app is iOS only, $59/yr a year covers unlimited apps and keywords on a native Mac app, and you can score your listing free first.
