Publishing your app?

Publish your app with the words people actually search.

App Store Connect asks for a title, a subtitle and 100 characters of keywords. Before you submit, see how many people search each word, who ranks for it today, and which ones you can win.

The screen you get

Your listing, written from search data.

Next Release picks the search to go after and writes your words around it.

  • The search worth targeting, with its demand and difficulty
  • A title, subtitle and keyword field that use every character
  • What each change gains, and what it puts at risk
  • Your ranks tracked after you ship, so you see what worked

Before you hit submit

Three things App Store Connect never tells you.

It gives you the boxes to fill in. ASO Studio tells you what to put in them.

How many people search each word

Every phrase gets a demand score from the App Store's own search data, so your keywords are words real people type.

How to publish an app on the App Store

Five steps from Xcode to the App Store.

  1. Join the Apple Developer Program

Enroll at developer.apple.com for $99 a year. Approval usually takes a day or two.

  2. Pick the words people search

Find the searches you can win before you name the app. The title, subtitle and keyword field are what the App Store matches every search against.

  3. Create the app in App Store Connect

Add it with its bundle ID, then fill in the title, subtitle, keywords, description, screenshots and privacy details.

  4. Upload a build

Archive in Xcode and upload it. Send it to testers through TestFlight first if you want outside feedback.

  5. Submit for review

Pick the build, answer the review questions and submit. Apple reviews most apps within a day or two.

What it costs

Everything for launch day, and every release after.

Before you download

Common questions.

Do I need my app published first?

No. Add any search term or any existing app and research the words around your idea before you submit. App Store Connect is optional and only adds your own sales once you are live.

Can I change my keywords after launch?

Yes. The subtitle and keyword field change with each new version you submit. ASO Studio tracks your ranks, so you can see what every change did.

Does it run on Windows?

ASO Studio is a native Mac app. It runs on macOS 15 and later, and the download is a signed and notarized DMG.

What does it cost?

$59 a year or $11 a month, for everything: unlimited apps and keywords, every workspace, and every update. Cancel anytime through the Stripe billing portal.
